Celebrating the Academic Excellence of AJFHL Players!

Celebrating the Academic Excellence of AJFHL Players!

Alberta Female Junior Hockey League

At AJFHL, we believe in recognizing the outstanding achievements of our talented players in a unique and special way. This year, we proudly present the New AJFHL Scholastic Achievement Award, an annual honour dedicated to players who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their studies. To qualify for this esteemed award, players must be enrolled in full-time studies and achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA during the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2022-2023 academic year, with the top 3 players with the highest GPA’s receiving a cash award of $500.

However, we are thrilled to announce that a remarkable total of 5 players have earned this prestigious academic recognition! Given this exceptional accomplishment, we've made a heartfelt decision. Instead of choosing just 3 recipients, we believe all 5 players deserve recognition for their outstanding dedication and academic excellence. To commemorate their remarkable achievement, we have decided to divide the $1,500 award equally among these exceptional individuals. Each player will receive an equal share of $300, symbolizing our appreciation for their remarkable accomplishments.

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the following AJFHL players for their remarkable achievements on and off the ice, showcasing their exceptional commitment to academic endeavours:

  • Brooklyn Carels, Cochrane Chaos
  • Kayla Ironside, Cochrane Chaos
  • Nicole Thomas, Edmonton Wolves
  • Kalaina Kozak, Cochrane Chaos
  • Eva DeBaie, Lethbridge Eagles

A massive round of applause to these outstanding individuals! We commend you for your relentless pursuit of excellence in both athletics and academics. Your dedication serves as an inspiration to all.

Furthermore, we would like to extend our congratulations to the other 25 AJFHL players who have demonstrated remarkable academic achievement, qualifying them for the AJFHL Scholastic Achievement Award Certificate. We commend each and every one of you for your exceptional commitment to academic success.
